Abstract

El 6 de mayo de 2021 falleció HumbertoMaturana, un científico-filósoforevolucionario, que hizo importantesaportaciones a la ciencia y a las humanidadesy se atrevió a pronunciar en sudiscurso palabras como sentir, emocióny amor. Posiblemente estas palabras, tanpoco habituales en el ámbito científico yacadémico, hayan sido una de las causasde que el pensamiento de Maturana nohaya tenido el impacto que se merece,por lo menos en España, donde no es unautor muy conocido. El artículo pretendehacer un homenaje a su figura. Paraello haremos un recorrido por las quehan sido sus principales aportaciones,centrándonos en su concepción de laeducación y de la democracia.
