Abstract

El artículo presenta una revisión de la labor de los siete gobiernos de Ramón María Narváez y Campos bajo el reinado de Isabell II, una época de grandes cambios y de profundas alternaciones políticas, como queda presente al tener que conformar el I duque de Valencia hasta un total de siete gobiernos, con el apoyo del Partido Moderado. La metodología consiste en una comparación y revisión de las fuentes bibliográficas históricas y de los archivos, acudiendo a las fuentes más antiguas para poder tener una visión con aspectos que a veces no han sido tenidos demasiado en cuenta, ayudando así a un debate historiográfico. El desarrollo del artículo constata las reformas que durante los siete gobiernos se realizaron, con un profundo alcance en España, y algunas de las cuales perduraron en el tiempo. Así, observamos como los gobiernos tuvieron un alcance reformista mayor del que en otra literatura se ha considerado, dejando al margen las reformas de Ramón María Narváez, su calado y su importancia.
