Resumen

Esta tesis tiene embargado el acceso al texto completo hasta el 17-01-2026 (General); Spanish performing practice in the 21st century has been characterized by a series of significant transformations, especially in the field of radical and political theater. Prominent figures such as Angélica Liddell, Rodrigo García, Roger Bernat and La Ribot have challenged traditional theatrical conventions, exploring new forms of expression that question established norms and address pressing political and social issues. This new concept of political theater has emerged in a context marked by profound cultural and political changes, where cultural policies have also played an important role. The economic crisis at the end of the last decade has left an indelible mark on the Spanish cultural panorama, giving rise to a symbolic crisis that has been reflected and questioned in the theater scene. The emergence of the 15M social movement has been a crucial turning point, causing a re-evaluation of established political and cultural structures. A decade later, his legacy continues to resonate in the theater scene, inspiring new forms of creativity and citizen participation. In this changing context, theater spaces have also undergone significant reconfiguration. From the proliferation of exhibition and creation centers to the increasingly relevant role of public spaces and the alternative scene, theater has found new places to develop and connect with different audiences. Theater companies, for their part, have adopted innovative strategies to adapt to this new panorama. Intermediality, performativity, the document, the real, the question of gender or the new scenic languages are some of the approaches and resources that have been used to reflect the society of the moment. In conclusion, Spanish performing arts practice in the 21st century is characterized by its diversity, its political commitment and its ability to adapt to a constantly changing world. As society evolves, theater remains a vital space to reflect on our past, understand our present and imagine our future (Summary)
