Research areas (short description)

Use of a variety of experimental approaches for the growth and characterization of materials of interest in the fields of hydrogen production using renewable energy resources and hydrogen storage in solids. In the last years, the main focus is on the use of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and plasma-enhanced CVD for the growth of thin films and 2D materials for photo-electrochemical water splitting applications. Characterization by spectroscopic (Raman, optical absorption, FTIR) and electrochemical (linear sweep voltammetry, chronoamperometry, impedance spectroscopy) methods.
