Abstract

The symmetrically substituted hexakis(n-hexyl)hemihexaphyrazine was synthesized by condensation of 3,6 -bis(n-hexyl)phthalonitrile and 2,5-diamino-1,3,4-thiadiazole in the presence of sodium pentanolate. The macro cycle was characterized by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, as well as IR, 1H and 13C NMR, UV-Vis absorption and fluores-cence spectroscopies.
