Abstract

The subject of death has generated much vocabulary in all languages. The fear of quoting something that terrifies us drives us to look for new concepts. This is the reason why new words are created, and in particular why the existent ones adquire new metaphorical values. This study aims at showing how the Latin and Spanish of epigraphy has given language new forms of expression in the semantic domain of death.
