Abstract

This work aims to restore France back into the tradition of the liberal revolutions of 1820 and their transnational networks, which has been usually neglected, so that the map of the international projection of the Spanish revolution and its Cadiz constitution can be rounded out. Its vicinity and dynastic ties link the fate of the Spanish Triennium to political events in the neighboring country, and the study of both press and publications of the period by leading intellectuals and political men shows that the discussion of the Spanish events, mostly interpreted in national terms, marked the French public debate of the period. For France neither avoided the cross-border contact of revolutionaries and conspirators, nor the insurrectionary attempts held by the opposition to the restored monarchy that ended with the final military intervention supported by the Holly Alliance.
