Abstract

El concepto de bienestar económico no se puede reducir únicamente a una serie de indicadores económicos, sino que tiene también una dimensión social, cultural y espiritual. El nacimiento y el desarrollo histórico del reduccionismo económico es estudiado, centrándose principalmente en dos temas : que la Economía moderna proviene directamente de la Economía Política del siglo XVIII, y que la Economía es una ciencia situada dentro de la dimensión espiritual de la existencia humana. Se sostiene que si sólo se promociona el bienestar material se producirán una serie de problemas , como la necesidad creciente de bienes materiales, la atomización de la vida social y la creación de expectativas falsas que producirán insatisfacción al no poder ser realizadas
