Abstract

This paper presents the results of archaeological research conducted between 2012 and 2015 at Cova de Les Borres (La Febro, Tarragona). The new chronostratigraphic data and archaeological materials analysed here derive from the three main levels identified so far, dating to the mid-GI-1 (Level 2), the end of GI-1/beginning of GS-1 (Level 1.2), and presumably GS-1 (Level 1.1). The documented occupational sequence is of great importance for the study of technological and cultural evolutionary dynamics during the end of the Pleistocene in the northeastern Iberian Peninsula. It is one of the few known sites with successive occupations during GI-1 and GS-1, associated with the Final Upper Magdalenian and Sauveterrian.
