Abstract

Esta Tesis tiene embargado el acceso al texto completo hasta el 01-06-2025 (General); The pandemic generated by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has fostered numerous studies to understand the epidemiology and pathogenesis of the virus, as well as to develop a vaccine capable of controlling its spread. Likewise, knowledge of the characteristics of innate and adaptive immunity to SARS-CoV-2 has been critical to evaluating the response of patients to infection and vaccination. In this Thesis we have investigated the adaptive immune response after vaccination against SARS-CoV-2, in healthy subjects and in patients with a dysregulated immune system such as Down syndrome, and Multiple Sclerosis patients treated with immunomodulatory drugs. We have focused on the characterization of the cellular immunity after vaccination, analyzing on the one hand the changes in the specificity profile of CD4+ T lymphocytes and the functional properties of specific TReg lymphocytes in healthy donors, and on the other hand the development of an effective immune response in vulnerable patients (Summary)
