Élites sociales y élites políticas en Argentina. Buenos Aires 1880-1930

Abstract

El artículo analiza la estructura y composición de las élites de Buenos Aires entre 1880 y 1930. Para ello, se presenta un acercamiento prosopográfico que revela indicadores referidos a capitales políticos, económicos, culturales y simbólicos (orígenes familiares) entre integrantes de las élites políticas, económicas y sociales. Los argumentos se centran especialmente en la relación entre élite social y élite política. A partir de ello, se esgrimen hipótesis sobre el impacto de la ampliación democrática del sistema político (ocurrida en 1912) y más en general, de la transformación de Argentina en una sociedad de masas a principios del siglo XX.
