Efectividad de la tecnología mhealth en la prevención y el tratamiento del síndrome de burnout en el personal de enfermería

Resumen

Trabajo Fin de Grado en Enfermería. Curso académico 2023-2024 (General); Background: Burnout Syndrome (BS) is a condition of chronic working stress that is estimated to affect over 17 million nurses worldwide at the moment. This brings us to an urgent demand for individual and organizational strategies to manage its prevention and treatment, to which mHealth mobile applications provide a promising solution. Objective: To determine the effectiveness and usefulness of mHealth technology towards the prevention and treatment of BS among nursing staff, to analyze the characteristics of these applications, and to evaluate the personal experiences of participants after their use. Methods: A bibliographical research was conducted via MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, ENFISPO, CUIDEN, APA PsycInfo, Google Scholar, Web of Science and Biblos-e Archivo. A total of 126 records where identified, of which 19 finally remained: 13 clinical trials, 4 systematic reviews, 1 nominal group study, and 1 Delphi study. Results: MHealth technology shows significant improvements in BS symptoms in 10 out of 13 clinical trials, as well as in wellbeing, selfcare and resilience rates. It is worth highlighting the importance of organizational measures in their implementation, as well as the greater magnitude of effects achieved through in-person interventions. Conclusions: MHealth has proven to improve BS symptomatology, prevention, and early detection. However, to completely alleviate this syndrome organizational measures must be addressed as well. Thus, given their low costs and great scope, it is suggested to use them as a general measure through administrations, and to establish face-to-face therapies for the most critical cases (Summary)
