Abstract

En el bicentenario de la segunda restauración absolutista (1823-1833), este dossier pretende arrojar una mirada novedosa sobre uno de los periodos peor conocidos de la historia contemporánea de España. Para ello, aborda la reacción antiliberal desde una perspectiva comparativa y transatlántica, a través de un diálogo entre la España peninsular e Hispanoamérica. Las divisiones en el seno del realismo, la dimensión popular de la movilización antiliberal, las lecturas contrarrevolucionarias de las Independencias americanas o las motivaciones de los combatientes realistas, se dan la mano para revisar las lecturas tradicionales de un periodo tan cargado de prejuicios como desafiante para la investigación.
